Very good Sandy. Sarcasm and chasm, oak tree, wind, leaf cuts between people. and yet unity softness and strength. Many relationships are like that. People love each other, sometimes they hurt each other through sarcasm because they know each other so well, but love prevails. You learn to accept each others faults and love is unconditional .You marry a dream and then live with reality
I do not know how to be sarcastic and words of sarcasm can be hurtful at times. But pain, just as happiness has to be acknowledged as it will always exist to balance our life. Beautifully poignant. Have a lovely Sunday dear Sandy, xoxo
This subtle and allusive piece makes quite an impression, begs a second read. Intelligently written! Here's mine: http://www.kimnelsonwrites.com/2011/03/21/the-proper-behavior-of-love/
never realizing so much space between mind and heart and the emotions that lie there... both the dark and the light... we are really beautifully made... complex yet beautiful...

powerful poem just like sarcasm...
ReplyDeleteI do so like this. The title, places the whole poem in a different light -- sometimes don't you just wish there was a "sarcasm font"?
ReplyDeleteVery nice one...

Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteSo true. Sarcasm can create this gulf/space of misunderstanding. Your imagery always draw me in. It's wonderful to read your poetry.
" You and I. We wish we knew."
ReplyDeletethat says everything Sandy.
Loved it....
Words can gather in that chasm and live for years. This piece has a beautiful impressionistic feeling to it. Gentle and reflective.
ReplyDeleteoh.. that'd be a irrecoverable fall, Sandy.. very difficult to choose from the chasm I think.. powerful take!
