  1. Sandy wonderful post, but for me the way those little videos stop and start, drives me crazy. (Do you know anything that can be done?) I would like to share, that my son had learning problems. He was born in 1966, so that gives you a time frame. We did everything that we knew(testing, counselors, private school). But I don't think anything we did really helped. He was very unprepared for the world he finds himself in today. He left home at 28, he wanted to find his own way. He's been out there for the last 15 years. I am sorry to tell you he is a homeless person, but he is still the sweetest. And in the area he is, he is getting help from a nonprofit organization that helps homeless people. It's really a heart breaking situation. We gave him the drugs, that were recommended, in hopes to keep him out of trouble, as he was constantly in trouble at school. Actually he is pretty good with his hands, I don't know if he will be able to find his place in this world, as I think this world doesn't make a place for these guys. Have you read Tom Hartman's books, and about the school he helped to found, the Hunter School? I think he has an interesting take on this problem. Thanks for the post.

  2. I really enjoyed this vedeo. As a former therapist, I too was concerned about the enormous amount of diagnosed ADHD.

The video reminds me of the words of Dick Gregory, (I'm paraphrasing) "Let's teach our children how to live, not just how to make a living."

  3. fascinating, love his art work-that's cause I'm a visual learner and that's one thing most education doesn't take into account-the student's mode of leaning. Lots of food for thought here, being a former First Grade teacher and now a teacher of right brain writing...thanks for sharing.

  9. I really think they use too much medication on children that don't "fit in". This explains it quite good.
