The gray blue of early December is a special color. It promises snow and warm drinks and Christmas lights and quiet magic. On Sunday morning, I raised my bedroom blinds after I dressed, and I noticed then that flurries were floating slowly to the ground. I went and got my younger nephew to show him, and he jumped up and down for joy in the first snow, however mild. Later that day, the flurries grew into our first snowfall. We went to bed early and slept in the next day. The snow delayed the opening of school. We didn't mind.

ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in New York, I loved school days that were postponed due to snow. It was a great little treat.
ReplyDeleteThis sky calls for a hot cup of cocoa with a afghan wrapped around your legs.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful shot Sandy. I love the colors. Fun to experience your nephews first snow with him.

ReplyDeleteIn full swing there, eh? We've got cold, freezing ponds but not to much in the way of white stuff.. a smattering at best.
ReplyDeleteThe sky looks so sad and gloomy but as its load falls surely gives cheers to many!
ReplyDeleteHappy first snow! Ours have been around for three weeks and have crated some of the most stunning views i have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteSadly, last night we got hit by our first thaw, that should last 24 h and will melt most of snow away, threatening our white Christmas. But apparently the cold is returning next week, so i hope the enchanting blanket will return too.;)
Lovely image,
