After Thanksgiving supper, I went for a walk. I left the football to the football people and the creative work to the Creative One and took myself off to the quiet.

I love holiday quiet in the cold weather. (There is no quiet on major holidays in the warm weather. There are too many things to ignite or to sing about or what have you when the air is warm and the days are long.)

This time of year, though, there is a safe and serene place that the cold and dark offer together.

On Thanksgiving, the quiet is palpable. It slows the pulse. It stills the air. The landscape slips under the covers of winter for a good rest. The faded flowers of summer stand sentinel to happy memories. Everything is good.

It does feel good to be washed by quiet after being immersed in the frenzy of food and family. It rained here allllll day and then turned to snow flurries that evening. FUN. Our first snow on Thanksgiving Day which is very unusual.
What a lovely contented post.No wonder really when you start it with angel hair and follow up with splendid solitude. Beautiful.
A serene post. Very nice to read, especially in places where it is never cold.
Sandy, lovely words to go with your beautiful photos.
