It seems so amazing, that one image of one small creature, could whole the story of my life. Picnics at the beach, playing in the surf, the feel of the undertow around my legs, grit between my fingers, the heat of the sun on my back, all so intimate so complete. For so many years, I had such a close relationship with sun and surf, and tracks in the dunes and now I am in the desert....thank you for this small blessing. I hold the shell to my ear, and my lost life is all recalled.
I saw one of these little guys on a beach when I took my daughter and her friend to FL many years ago. I get up early and they wouldn't of course. I wanted them to see it so I took it to our room and put it into the sink. When they got up I heard awful screaming. Ha... they got to see it. Of course I put it back where I found it. They didn't appreciate all my efforts.
amazing how you got it. it's either you stayed there for a long time or just really was lucky to capture it before it runs. i dont always get a chance to capture them as they are quite fast.
He's a real cool character. He looks about to pounce to me. Or that could be my paranoia speaking. Last weekend a spider and a praying mantis both hopped on me while I tried to get a closeup shot. Yes, I screamed, and yes, Hubby laughed. Oh, and great shot!
cute little fella though it brings to mind the time i got bit in the water by one of them. took the top of one of my toes right off! oh yeah, that was a lot of fun.....
