These daffs were labeled as imports from the United Kingdom when I bought them from the wholesaler in Waterbury. I guess these flowers that are among the first to brave the change in season from winter to spring can stand a little trip from the UK to the US. They even took it pretty well when the cashier plunked a dozen eggs on top of them. These are my favorite flowers; I'm glad their tough as well as lovely.

I see some of my daffodils are coming back in the garden. This is a lovely of the yellow daffodil..
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until they are blooming right here at Greenbow. It won't be long. They always bring a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteNormally I don't like anything yellow, or single-blossom flowers, but daffodils are my favourite flower anyhow, for being able to withstand all the 'tough love' of a toddler's fist. I can't wait until I'm handed my first one of the year!
ReplyDeleteThe photo is beautiful -- Happy Spring!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo Sandy. Never heard of daffs being imported before. Glad they stood the test of that initial rough bagging process ;) Thank you very much for sharing and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteLovely daffs indeed.

I can't believe they import bunches of daffodils from Britain? You learn something new every day, and I guess this is it for more today......

The touch of brown on the edges added beauty to those imports!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo you shared with us today.
These are lovely. I wish the retailers would stock them. I've never been able to find one that did. Love how this is lit, the shadow along the edge of the ruffle is marvelous.

Very pretty daffodils. What a long trip they took...apparently not by a slow boat, as they look fresh and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow an imported daffodils, must be expensive!
ReplyDeleteMy entry. Have a blessed Sunday!
They are usually among the first to poke up out of the dirt in the park here ... once the rain ends and the mud is less muddy I plan on heading out to see what is popping .. that is a nice angle and a lovely reminder spring is on the way ..I sure hope its wearing boots
ReplyDeleteI love daffodils! What a gorgeous capture, Sandy! Our neighbors just started blooming and such a beautiful bright spot in the green of their yard. Have a lovely day filled with lots of daffodils!

Our Daffodils have been blooming for about three weeks now BUT I have never seen a Daffodil such as yours in photo . It must be a special kind. Ours have an inner "cup" (for lack of a better word) and then an outside "plate" -- that's what they remind me of if you laid one down on a table instead of putting in a vase. Sometimes they are all yellow and sometimes white edge and orange centers.
ReplyDeleteNo matter -- your flower is just beautiful!
Thanks for sharing this sign of Spring with us. There's nothing like a yellow daffodil to brighten up a day.
ReplyDeleteYour tough daffs are really beautiful. I love the yellow colour! And I love to see the little green leavetops peeping through the snow as they do now here in Austria!
ReplyDeleteGreat daffodils macro.
ReplyDeleteSimply Beautiful,
Gisela
when you see daffodils in the stores, you know spring is close. tough and beautiful-great combination.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the daffodils. Love daffodils.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
Daffodils and bluebells are the epitome of an English spring. There really is no problem about shipping the bulbs from one continent to another as long as it is on the same hemisphere. North to south would be a different matter with the upside down seasons.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of your cheer in the garden.
I took almost this exact shot but posted a different one.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my new blog home isn't posting to your feeder.
Gorgeous daffodils, Sandy! They are certainly no worse for wear after being mugged by the eggs.
