On March 27th at 8:30 p.m. local time, Earth Hour will cascade around the globe—from time zone to time zone—uniting the planet under a single, simple, call to action. On Earth Hour hundreds of millions of people, organizations, corporations and governments will come together to make a bold statement about their concern for climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour. Earth Hour symbolizes that by working together, each of us can have a positive impact in the fight against climate change, protecting our future and that of future generations.
In the U.S. where the impacts of climate change are already being felt, Earth Hour sends a message that Americans care about this issue and stand with the world in seeking to find solutions to the escalating climate crisis because if we don’t, who will.
Participation is easy. By flipping off your light switch on March 27th at 8:30 p.m. local time you will be casting your vote for action on climate change. Use this website to find out what else you can do to get involved including leading the Earth Hour movement in your community.

I hope our governments will be watching and listening, Sandy! Too many important people are dragging their feet on this issue!
ReplyDeleteWow.. is it that time of year again already? We participated last year. Our street was quite dark. A bunch of us went over to my next-door neighbour's back yard where they lit a fire in their fireplace. The hour flew by and quickly turned into two, then three. There might have been drinks too. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you as always, Sandy, for the reminder. How times flies -- whether you're having fun or not! Hope the rest of your week goes well!

remind us later. thanks...
ReplyDeleteI would definitely have to be reminded later. A great idea.
ReplyDeleteI think in the right company one hour wouldn't be nearly enough. I'd love to see a satellite loop of this if there were real, global participation.
ReplyDeleteGood job bringing attention to this! I have been disappointed lately at the rash of news articles not believing in climate change.

ReplyDeleteImagine if we all did this every *day*, what we'd save in our pockets and our resources? And what harm is one hour by twilight or candlelight--one quiet hour might do us all a world of good we can't yet imagine.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm in.
AMEB!
ReplyDeleteSimple things like these can have a great benifit.
ReplyDeleteI will do this and ensure to forward this to all people in my mailing list.
Thanks for the reminder. I've participated the last few years and have added it to my calendar so I'll remember this year ;-)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
