Here is heaven. A place where miracles happen. A beautiful, peaceful beach. I close my eyes and I hear the surf, imagine the morning sun, and dive with the pelicans...for whatever there is. I come up every time as a newly baptized believer in the power of nature to make the new day new without mercy or malice. I close my eyes and take my place among those grains of sand. And it's good.

You've made me a believer too Sandy. In a lot of things, not least of all these that you've mentioned here.
ReplyDeleteTopsail will always occupy a special place for me. More now than ever.
And that first photo? Oh.Mah.Gahd. That is fantastic! (Wish I'd thought of it.)
Nature is always healing and encouraging. I need a shot of nature every day or I get cranky. Did you see a beach fairy when you looked through the shell?
ReplyDeleteFabulous shot .. I now imagine you laying on your tummy aiming for that .. and getting it.. the surf shot is invigorating ...
ReplyDeleteOh meant to point out North Carolin is missing its A
ReplyDeleteThis is the same feeling each and every time I go to the beach here in Seattle and give thanks that I live so near the water. It has such an incredible healing power as all of nature does, but for me the water is best of all. The first shot is awesome, they're both gorgeous and say so much to those who listen. Have a great week, Sandy!

Beautiful words that stir up emotions inside me!
ReplyDeleteI thought the shell was a beach chair. . . but then it would have been facing the wrong way. I guess I ahve the picture of benches in my mind everywhere I go. . . lol
Sorry about being so ignorant.
good indeed. especially if that is where you are right now instead of in the cold and slush of new england.
ReplyDeleteThese shots are incredibly beautiful. That first one really moves me.. as do your lovely words.
ReplyDeleteWonderful serene and relaxing images, Sandy. And I like your nice words too.

ReplyDeleteyes, the beach is heaven. I long for the warmth of sun to bake my winter chilled bones. The sun, the surf and my chair!
ReplyDeleteI always think of "NATURE" as being the "real world" and the more time I can spend there the better
ReplyDeleteWhen see that liquid light and can feel the solitude, I believe.
ReplyDeleteLove the ocean and shells. Makes me long to jump in my car and drive.
ReplyDeletenature is soothing and comforting
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots... nature is so healing :)
ReplyDeleteI believe it is very much like Heaven!
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots, Sandy. For me it is the mountains, probably because I have more opportunity to spend time there than at the beach. Getting away from man-made is the key, where ever that may be.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to be. I love your pictures

Your words and photographs are pure poetry.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I love love love the beach; so peaceful and all the troubles just disappear.
ReplyDeleteNature really has the power to renew itself by the day, and with it, we are also renewed and invigorated, whether it be the awesome force generated by the waves or the constant crashing of waves on the shore. The beauty of creation is such that even the stoic is tempted to turn poetic.
ReplyDeleteI'm a great believer in Nature. Your photos are truly inspirational!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better to start a day.
