The pine cone is to Christmastime what the rose is to Valentine's Day--but you don't have to wait for them to come your way; they are there for the taking. Which is part of why I love them. Love and be loved. And may Christmas decorate itself for you.

Nicely put, Sandy. Our property is full of pine trees, one day I picked a few of the pine cones and made a desk Christmas tree out of them with lights and everything. very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI wish Christmas would decorate itself sometimes. No more dragging those boxes out of the attic and untwisting those lights.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot of the pine cone. I'm letting Christmas decorate itself more and more as I do less and less.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat shot of the pinecone-wow!
ReplyDeleteI like the composition - nice job!
ReplyDelete... "Delicate curls"
Beautiful, never seen them before.

ReplyDeletePinecones..always a part of my seasonal display! Roses are close to my heart so I combine pinecones and roses with fresh pine greenery for my indoor arrangements.

Hugs and blessings,
They are one of my favorite Christmas decorations. Great shot Sandy.
ReplyDeleteI love this! In a macro view like this, it almost looks metallic. Or anyway, not like a pine cone. And the blue background? Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the white stuff, did you spray glitter on it?
ReplyDeleteI keep a keep pine cones in my room in school, and the kids only ask me for them.
Interesting perspective!
ReplyDeleteMay Dad collected and painted some in red, blues, and golds years ago. I still have some.
...you don't have to wait for them to come your way; they are there for the taking...

Sometimes the best blessings we can receive are unanswered prayers.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the 'earthy' reminder. I am one who usually comes home from a walk this time of year with pockets bulging with pinecones feeling wealthy.

ReplyDeleteWow! How close can you get?! That is wonderful! I love to have the cinnamon smelling ones around this time of year. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one close shot! And, I too, love the cinnamon scented ones too! I have collected them in our local mountains in the past. Now I wish I had gotten out and done that this year...too late now, at least for Christmas. Beautiful post!
