A gift of love, once. Such a love is no more, but the flower makes me happy. I look at it and see beauty, stopped. And it smells so good. Today's Flowers
Hi! A flower is still a flower even at its end. :-) I used to save all my flowers as such and couldn't part with them. Come visit me sometimes: http://www.selfsagacity.com
Sandy, even if the beauty has faded, the scent lingers, the memory of happiness it rendered etched in the mind. Have a blessed Christmas. Greetings from the Philippines :D
I have a jar full of those lovely old roses. I don't know why I keep them. But I do. Maybe because they make me happy on days I need a bouquet and don't get one.
I have so many roses and other flowers pressed in the books I have read that they look lumpy,(the books I mean). All bring joy and love in the remembering.
Absolutely beautiful ;-) I love watching roses through the entire cycle and find myself photographing them as they fade too. Good to know I'm not the only one.

Your photo really captured the melancholy of a dry rose. But I love how it still smells good--a lesson here?
ReplyDeleteI can see the beauty still within. I love watching flowers through all the stages. :)
ReplyDeleteEven after the bloom fades a touch of its former beauty remains. Lovely shot.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful ;-)

Hugs and blessings,
Isn't it interesting that the scent remains? I love pressed flowers and leaves and the memories they bring to mind. Nicely put Sandy.
