This guy really does have it all buttoned up. He has survived a few torrential downpours over the past few weeks and is still standing. What goes beyond me is how those crows have fared as well. Perhaps this guy's more of a carecrow than a scarecrow.
The same downpours denuded most of the trees around here so that there is no canopy; the sky is wide open. Nevertheless, there are a few tenacious trees who are not ready to let their leafy robes fall tot eh ground. So it goes. We're all different.

Hmm... denuding, disrobing... oh you mean the trees. Sorry. LOVE the tree that still has its clothes on though. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAnd the "carecrow" cracked me up. Truly. You're such a card.
I love when the sun hits a Fall tree just right and it glows. Beautiful capture.
ReplyDeleteBook Review #5 - Merle's Door
I often wish my trees would all come down at once, and I could collect all the fallen leaves in one "swell foop"! But you remind me think it's nice to have a few hang on, just for the pleasure of the color.
ReplyDeleteThe crow on the scarecrows hat seems to have had a few too many ..aaa candy bars.
ReplyDeleteIt looks a lot like this here now. Not as many leaves on the trees. I should get out and rake. I must get out and rake. I will get out and rake...sometime...soon.
i don't think that scarecrow does it work by scaring birds...it looks too cute for me to even scare a small birdie! lol
ReplyDeletenice scenery too!
Buttons the scarecrow! I wondered where he'd gotten to
ReplyDeletecute scarecrow..
ReplyDeleteand lovely fall picture!
it was great visual treat..
Colourful and lovely.. the photos and your thoughts. :)
ReplyDeleteoh! he's one tough guy eh, the scarecrow!...lol
ReplyDeletethe leaves are clinging on till the last moment for others to capture the last of its glory!
It's been an odd fall to say the least. It peaked down here last Thursday. Even without sunlight, the trees were magnificent. Friday? the main color was over and during Saturday's rain, most of the leaves came off.
ReplyDeleteLove "care"crow!
Hi Sandy - I love the idea of a "Care Crow!" That tenacious yellow tree is spectacular.
ReplyDeletenice one...loved the place still:)...carecrow!!...good one
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view. I love that scarecrow - he looks so happy, even after surviving the rain! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a scarecrow with its own crows. They look very friendly. I like the contrast on the second picture between the green grass, the gray trees, and the yellow leaves.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice scarecrow!
ReplyDeleteAre you poetic w/ even knowing it or was that purposeful? --Your shots always interest me-- We are all different aren't we? the forest is more interesting and fun that way isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSomeone must have done a good job making the scarecrow for it to last so well. Nice to see one tree survived the bad weather...for now. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSame thing happened here with the rain. Nice post!
ReplyDeleteOrange you the clever one, Sandy! Great post! Happy My World Tuesday! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, clever post, Sandy. Love the scarecrow and the color change.
ReplyDeletefun wordplay. like your falling photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun scarecrow. The colors are so vibrant in your shot of the golden tree and bare limbs. What a nice green carpet too.
ReplyDeletewhat a cool s"carecrow"! lol. Looks like he is having fun! The tree looks lonely having the only leaves in town... the sunlight on the green grass looks so inviting...
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a "carecrow" It could be just as effective protecting crops if it took really good care of them so they didn't want to fly back to the corn fields.
ReplyDeleteAwww, a carecrow! He is a bit too cute to be scary I think--lucky crows!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy,
ReplyDeletei can't compare to anything the refreshing panorama of nature, i love it so much!!!
autumn glories
ReplyDeleteAloha, Sandy!

ReplyDeleteGreat faal photo's. Wonderful colours
ReplyDeleteVery fine post, Sandy. That cute scarecrow is so funny! About the landscape, I'm amazed by the contrast between the deep green meadow and the trees.
ReplyDeletebrilliant images!!
ReplyDeletei like the paperbirds in the scarecrow. and you are right, it seem to attract more birds lol. the second pic is simply a delight.
ReplyDeleteResilience - even the scarecrows have their share! Beautiful shot of the grassy meadow and tree. And a touching post on the rose and your Grandmother! Those memories are precious. For me the purple iris reminds me of Mom. The ones we have came from her garden.
ReplyDeleteTwo great pictures there. Certainly nothing to crow about :-)
ReplyDeleteEven the birds are fake ones. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteJust got back from an area of the country where everything is still green but here in Ohio I'm going to rake leaves today. Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteNaked or clothe, trees are beautiful! Nicely written, Sandy! Your scarecrow isn't at all scary -teehee. Love those paper birds clipped around him.
ReplyDelete"Care crow" was too funny but it looks like someone gave him "the bird"!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a really good scarecrow in a very long time! I sure miss New England in the fall!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Sandy. Love the scarecrow and all his visiting crows. Thanks for stopping by my blog too. Hope you're having a great start to the week.

ReplyDeleteHahaha that scarecrow is so cute and I wondered if he ever chase any birds away.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures - and how grateful I am to those tenacious ones who give us a bit more light and colour in November.

Beautiful autumn photos, Sandy. I love the scarecrow / carecrow!
ReplyDeleteJanice.
I'll bet the crows think that guy is cute, not scary!
ReplyDeleteOur trees seem to differ a lot in leaf change and loss, even for the same species in close proximity. Seems weird, but I guess even trees demand their individuality.
I love the scarecrow's face and the way my brain keeps seeing the two brown buttons as eyes and a fold as the mouth even though I know the buttons are arranged into a happy face. The human brain loves to make faces out of things.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute scarecrow! A few of our trees are completely bare but so many are filled with beautiful leaves yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
