And am I ever glad it did! This is ... truly magnificent Sandy. I can almost count the grains of pollen (achoo!) An explosion of vivid color... this is HOT!
Aren't daylilies just amazing?? And all that pollen there. Reminds me that I stuck my nose into a daylily that is supposed to smell good. All I got was a snoot full of pollen. My sniffer isn't what it used to be.
This picture is really good. I am so proud of you.
I got to see the Daylily collection at the NYBG this weekend. Pretty much blew my mind. Your Lily is definitely special with that color, it should be in the collection too. Did you know there over 50,000+ cultivars of Daylilies?
Lilies are such gloriously beautiful flowers to have around.
the scent can be overpowering in a small room yet I really love the scented ones - 10 1/2 years ago I had major abdominal surgery.
The first 2 beautiful bouquets of flowers included scented lilies. I may have needed the staff to remove them from the room at night, yet they were a lovely aroma for healing.
I so agree with Maggie may about the pollen - it does stain fabric badly (folks - just soak with an oxygen bleach)
Sandy, thank you sincerely for sharing this wonderful flower from your Folk's own garden,
lovely freshly watered flowers. Here in Kalifornia the plants get so dusty come August and it is always tempting to get a hose and clean off the whole neighborhood.
