A few weeks ago at Ocean Beach Park in New London, my daughter and her cousins just about owned the arcade. Everyone else was out enjoying the blue skies and sunshine! Looking up from the inside, I found some relief from the weird darkness of the arcade and found myself dreaming about being way out in the water, on a boat....Winning no tickets at all.

May I pleeease join you, out on the boat? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI would be doing that too- I hope they emerge from the darkness in time to enjoy that beauty:)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you too BUT I bet at your daughter's age you would have chosen the same things she does now. One day, she can look forward to appreciating the things you do now also. I know that's the way ti was with me.

My kids did that to me in Eilat last summer. I thought I was going to lose my everlovin' mind if I didn't Get. Out. Of. The. Freaking. Gameroom.
ReplyDeleteThe water beats an arcade any day, in my book.

Oh I love all the summer blues in your photos. Have a glorious weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou got the best of both worlds by keeping a watch on the beautiful and the strange.
ReplyDeleteI would much prefer to be on the boat myself. I really like both pictures, but especially the one of the sailboats.
ReplyDeleteI used to say that I couldn't understand kids who would rather stay indoors playing video games rather than playing outdoors. Until I realized that it wasn't much different from my staying indoors to read when I was a kid! But I think reading's so much better than video games ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely sailboats! Happy SWF!
I'm with Hilda, I also spent my kid's days reading or if not running outside but not on video games which then wasn't the tech yet. And your skywatch was magnificent.
ReplyDeleteI miss Skee Ball at the beach! Nice shot of the sailboat. I can feel the breeze on my face just thinking about it. :-)
ReplyDeletearcades can be quite addictive. I experienced that once in a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteyour photos tell your tale so well.
A wonderous Summer post. I can smell the summer sea-side days of my east coast youth. Guess that's where I am today: life after skee ball. I love how your eyes roam and your heart settles on beautiful things and ideas about them, Sandy.
ReplyDeleteAloha from a different-color sea. From a boat...
Comfort Spiral
The ocean has many joys LOL
ReplyDeleteI think we shared the same dream. Kids? If they only knew what they are missing.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the boat. Makes me think of being at the beach, to which I will be in a few weeks.

ReplyDeleteOh but I think you did get the winning ticket, at least in your daydreams.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous day for a day on a boat. I'll day dream about that...
ReplyDeleteGreat post and photos!
Excellent shots. I love the sailboat silhouetted against the sky. Great job!
ReplyDeleteKewl shot from inside the arcade. Methinks I'd love to be on that boat right about now ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Like you, I think I'd rather be outside than in, and that's without every having experienced an arcade.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of the boats. The scene has a calming effect, doesn't it? Actually, I have enjoyed the pictures throughout your blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a note. It's always nice to have a visiter stop by and have a bit of popcorn served daily.
Have a great day!
That sailboat would make me want to dream too. Really captivating.
ReplyDeleteWell said!
ReplyDeleteAmazing pic and the scenic beauty is so nostalgic...:)
I totally understand when you say being out in the sun and basking ourselves within the monotony...!
Keep writing..:)
Lovely set of photos for Sky Watch Friday, bit of fun to see the sky through the signage. Hope you are enjoying summer.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could be on that sail boat, nothing but sky, sea and wind.
ReplyDeleteArcade? Or Fun in the sun? I would choose the sun on my back any day over darkness, crowds and games. But different strokes for different folks I guess. Incredible images.

"on a boat heading to the southern islands" Can i come with you My Dear Friend?
ReplyDeleteThere can be too much sunshine especially if you are out on a boat. There is nothing wrong about hiding in dark places every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteOut there under those skies and with the breeze is the place to be! New grandson Lewis is doing well, increasing his night time sleep and Mom is enjoying the extra sleep too!
ReplyDeleteLove the sail boats, there is not much that is better on a summer's day.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and blue colors! The horisont line on the last photo I love very much! :)
