Halftime during my daughter's last soccer game last Saturday in Winchester, Connecticut, had me daydreaming and taking in the views. To my right was this empty old factory, and to my left, a Roman Catholic Church. After a week of rain, everything was soft and clean--and the tall grass made a lovely cushion from which to enjoy the view--and nap in the sun during half time. The views stayed soft, but I emerged feeling crispy.

I especially like how you caught the windows on both sides of the building in the factory. . . isn't it something how we take photos of things we might never have taken with a camera say 20 years ago and not digital? I;m glad you did because it was a real treat.
ReplyDeleteliked your photos and post about enjoying the little moments in life.
ReplyDeleteYour photos speak of care and love of your surroundings.. A clean sky and a church in the middle.
ReplyDeleteLove that last line!!! ;<)
ReplyDeleteI agree about the rain, how cleansing and renewing it is. I wish some would fall here in BC. The forest fires loom ever near.

You make me miss my hammock. I use to love laying out to read a book, knowing full well the sun would sing me to sleep. Lovely, Sandy.
ReplyDeleteI love the two together: two sides of our lives, most of us, with a job taking care of our earthly needs, and the church taking care of our heavenly ones. What a wonderful pair--happy skywatching Sandy, I love those blue skies!
ReplyDeleteWindow reflections cath my eye every time. Those are wonderful arched windows, and the steeple is grand!!
ReplyDeleteThat is very beautiful Church. The difference in the colors in the lower and upper portions is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThat's what napping in the sun will do to you. You crisp right up!
ReplyDeleteBut wow... even the abandoned factories in your world are pretty. At least the way you shoot 'em they are.
Aaaaahhhhh,,,,, the photos are so refreshing! I love what you see through your camera!
ReplyDeleteWhat marvelous shots!! Love the church spire against the sky! Enjoyed hearing about your day!

ReplyDeleteBoth really nice pictures. I do love that double-window thing in the first.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI love the second one, it looks exactly like the church in my town...

Greetings from the Netherlands
I really like the clean green after a rain. A week of rain? Sounds like you're having weather similar to ours in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteI love the view through two sets of windows.

ReplyDeleteThe architecture and your capture of the windows of the old factory are intriguing. And a beautiful steeple against sky is always an inspiring sight. Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI love the perspective of the factory windows! That pic is amazing. The spire of the church rising into the sky is a very stark bold shot, with the nice soft white clouds and soft blue sky behind it! Great pics My dear Friend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a dreamy state of bliss to pamper oneself with a soft view Sandy! I like that artistic taste of spying the sky through the glass window too!

ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Those are just the type of things that catch my eye when I want to take pictures.

We have also had mostly rain all week. The garden is thick and lush from all the rain. The skies have not been very pretty like these pictured though. Lovely old buildings too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots. The second photo with the steeple is beautiful and I love how you caught all the windows in the first one.
ReplyDeleteSandy: Neat shot through the window but I like the steeple shot beat.

I love how the church tower rise above and is framed by the beautiful sky. Speaks of how your faith rises above all else. . .
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you caught that through shot of the sky in the windows of the building..
Everything is lush and green here, as well, after all the rain that we have had. Makes a change from the usual dry brown !
Super shots---the old factory looks so clean after the rain. MB
ReplyDeleteWe've had more rain than usual too. Things are greener earlier. It's nice, although we don't have tall grass in the high desert. Tall wildflowers, however, are in abundance on the roadsides.
ReplyDeleteLove those windows in windows. Very evocative. And there's nothing quite like a church spire against the heavens to make the spirit soar.
I enjoyed coming upon this lovely sight through you. I love the top image. Happy Friday!
