Halftime during my daughter's last soccer game last Saturday in Winchester, Connecticut, had me daydreaming and taking in the views. To my right was this empty old factory, and to my left, a Roman Catholic Church. After a week of rain, everything was soft and clean--and the tall grass made a lovely cushion from which to enjoy the view--and nap in the sun during half time. The views stayed soft, but I emerged feeling crispy.

I especially like how you caught the windows on both sides of the building in the factory. . . isn't it something how we take photos of things we might never have taken with a camera say 20 years ago and not digital? I;m glad you did because it was a real treat.
liked your photos and post about enjoying the little moments in life.
Your photos speak of care and love of your surroundings.. A clean sky and a church in the middle.
Love that last line!!! ;<)
I agree about the rain, how cleansing and renewing it is. I wish some would fall here in BC. The forest fires loom ever near.

You make me miss my hammock. I use to love laying out to read a book, knowing full well the sun would sing me to sleep. Lovely, Sandy.
I love the two together: two sides of our lives, most of us, with a job taking care of our earthly needs, and the church taking care of our heavenly ones. What a wonderful pair--happy skywatching Sandy, I love those blue skies!
Window reflections cath my eye every time. Those are wonderful arched windows, and the steeple is grand!!
That is very beautiful Church. The difference in the colors in the lower and upper portions is fantastic.
That's what napping in the sun will do to you. You crisp right up!
But wow... even the abandoned factories in your world are pretty. At least the way you shoot 'em they are.
Aaaaahhhhh,,,,, the photos are so refreshing! I love what you see through your camera!
What marvelous shots!! Love the church spire against the sky! Enjoyed hearing about your day!
Happy SWF!
Enjoy your weekend!
Great shots, I like the reflection in the windows.
Have a fantastic weekend

Love the sky reflection in the factory windows.
These are both great shots. I love the reflected sky in the first and the way the steeple looks against the sky in the second. Great post.
Love the reflections in the photo, and the picture of the church:) Have a great weekend.
I wish I could feel crispy after a rain. Never had that kind of feeling before.
Both really nice pictures. I do love that double-window thing in the first.
Hi there,
I love the second one, it looks exactly like the church in my town...
Have a nice Skywatch Friday
Greetings from the Netherlands
I really like the clean green after a rain. A week of rain? Sounds like you're having weather similar to ours in Ontario.
I love the view through two sets of windows.
Great photos...I love the steeple reaching into the sky...and beautiful skies...
So would that be Winchester Cathedral ... kidding .. tho now I have that song playing in my head
Lovely photos in a lovely place!
beautiful captures. i wonder if the windows on both sides are aligned? again great capture.
The architecture and your capture of the windows of the old factory are intriguing. And a beautiful steeple against sky is always an inspiring sight. Lovely post.
I love the perspective of the factory windows! That pic is amazing. The spire of the church rising into the sky is a very stark bold shot, with the nice soft white clouds and soft blue sky behind it! Great pics My dear Friend!
What a dreamy state of bliss to pamper oneself with a soft view Sandy! I like that artistic taste of spying the sky through the glass window too!
Thanks for visiting my Australia:Quadrat in Focus and leaving your gracious comment.
Great great shots esp of the windows. Just beautiful.
Very beautiful church. Love the reflection of the sky in the glass.
I like the arches in the windows of the factory. Hopefully something positive can be done with the building. :-)
Great pictures. Those are just the type of things that catch my eye when I want to take pictures.
Very nice.
We have also had mostly rain all week. The garden is thick and lush from all the rain. The skies have not been very pretty like these pictured though. Lovely old buildings too.
Wonderful shots. The second photo with the steeple is beautiful and I love how you caught all the windows in the first one.
Sandy: Neat shot through the window but I like the steeple shot beat.
Beautiful photo's!!
Take care and Happy SWF
Wonderful pictures! The second one is very picturesque, with the church, the trees and the beautiful white clouds.
Happy Sky Watch!
Lovely views of your skies. That first image is very cool.
It's nice to see the weather improve!
Beautiful SWF photos Sandy with lovely composition. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
Smiles
Another steeple photo. I did one too. Have a good weekend.
Good, tranquil scenery can make you ready for anything.
The warehouse would make a wonderful studio and gallery.
Nice shots, at least you had something to occupy yourself with.
I love that photo with the windows. I love the shapes and that you can see through them to the other side.
Soccer now you are talking Glad you are playing it more XXX Don ohhhhhhhhh nice shots bye the way XXX
Great captures Sandy! I love the world after a few good days of rain..yes everything if so fresh and the grass the greenest green! Enjoy sky watching!
Rain does tend to make everything smell better and cleans up the universe. Great job capturing this photo. Your words are an inspiration.

Good skywatch. I had a steeple too.
Sandy, your words are as delightful as you wonderful photos, Thanks.
Have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend...
I love how the church tower rise above and is framed by the beautiful sky. Speaks of how your faith rises above all else. . .
Wonderful shots.
I really like how you caught that through shot of the sky in the windows of the building..
Everything is lush and green here, as well, after all the rain that we have had. Makes a change from the usual dry brown !
Super shots---the old factory looks so clean after the rain. MB
We've had more rain than usual too. Things are greener earlier. It's nice, although we don't have tall grass in the high desert. Tall wildflowers, however, are in abundance on the roadsides.
Love those windows in windows. Very evocative. And there's nothing quite like a church spire against the heavens to make the spirit soar.
I enjoyed coming upon this lovely sight through you. I love the top image. Happy Friday!
Wow the second photo is so stunning !! The Holy Cross is looking so amazing on the top..Loved this one..Great Shot..Also I Have Started My Own Website And Would Like You To Have A Look At It.I Would Love To Have Your Comments On That Also.Unseen Rajasthan
Three of my favorite things to photograph. Neat how you shot through the buidling, Sandy.
I like windows and reflections. These are great shots.
I love this shot.
Sandy-I like the church pic and the old factory-over time both have been filled with dreams-each in it's own way.
