Saturday found us at Topsmead, a beautiful Connecticut state park in Litchfield, Connecticut. I was at once taken by the expansive views that seemed to embrace the knowable, visible, wide world, and the intimate views--those lovely glimpses of what was in front of me, of what was small and beautiful, of what was everything. Beautiful things that were as tangible as they were mysterious, vibrating with unseen life. A walk in the woods on a May day is all it takes to know that wildflowers are happy beings.
The light shimmered through and warmed up every living thing. It is a pwreful and strange experience to stand and watch ferns and flowers respond to the sun. To watch bluebirds play. To smell life in the clean air. It's all good. Don't let anybody tell you different.

ReplyDeleteHaving photography as a hobby, gives you a new perspective on life and what is about you, doesn't it ?
This is a lovely set of photographs. I specially love the blue bird. What a beautiful world it is.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful peaceful scene Sandy. I especially love the blue bird.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! How I would love to see a bluebird. We have red robins, goldfinches, even green cockatoos that have gone wild here in kent. Blue tits that have some blue but nothing like that lovel bird.
ReplyDeleteAs my sons would say, I'm gobsmacked. Is it the rolling grassy hills leading to woodland fairies or the bluebird sitting royally waiting to have his beauty struck? Is it the cunning flowerlets calling me to lie down in the lushness of the morning? Nah, it's the joy that someone cared about the beauty around them to stop and take time to snap a picture of it! Wonderful, Sandy...but then...so are you!
