This is my home away from home, also known as heaven. When I am on this beach, I imagine walking straight into a breeze and flying up to the clouds to return as rain and do it al over again. There's no good reason to be any place else.

Thank you for this refreshing photo. Hanging out at the beach is one of my favorite pastimes. This is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh. Heaven, indeed.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that is what heaven could look like!
ReplyDeleteI have been to many of the beaches up and down the East Coast - somehow I never made it to North Carolina's beaches. Your picture could have also been taken in South Carolina, Hilton Head Island.
Gorgeous! I love the beach here, too! Love the water and the skies! Just doesn't get any better! Happy SWF, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteYou would be carried up w/ drops of the ocean as friends since it is how they cycle too
ReplyDeleteLovely capture Sandy. I could loose myself here and enjoy it very much.
ReplyDeleteHeaven I'm in Heaven and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak.
Have a great weekend.
Great photo Sandy. I felt like I was there with you, smelling the sea air and walking on the sand! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThose places, either real or imagined, are wonderful. Peace and tranquility find fertile soil.
ReplyDeleteYou'll get no argument from me! I don't go to Topsail (at least not often) but you can't go anywhere on the Southern Outer Banks and not get this feeling. Excellent choice!
ReplyDeleteA marvelous photo. the cloud looks like a huge sail itself.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand that frame of mind.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I can see it.
ReplyDeletea most heavenly shot indeed...the clouds, the stairway leading to them and the tuffs of sea grass on the dunes...wonderful
ReplyDeleteFor sure, if I were there I wouldn't be thinking about being somewhere else!
ReplyDeleteWhat a big pile of fluff there in the blue sky. With views like these I can see why you are drawn to this place. Happy SWF.
ReplyDeleteI'm with every one here. This does feel like heaven, you can do some serious skywatching here too.
ReplyDeleteNice to know you found a home away from home.
That's a beautiful shot and you really capture the feeling at Topsail so well.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how long you've been going there and I don't know if I mentioned this before but the point where the sound and ocean meet used to be an immense breeding area for birds. I was surprised and disappointed when NC allowed building (houses and condos) on that part of the island that was natural for so long.
I'm thinking it was sometime in the late 1980s that the part I'm talking about was developed. The Sea Vista hotel (now timeshares) used to be close to the end of where there were houses but they put in a road past there and built the new houses and condos.
Ironically hurricanes completely covered up the new road and destroyed a lot of those houses and condos but they were rebuilt. I don't go to Topsail as much as I used to because I have family with a house at Atlantic Beach, NC but it holds a lot of good memories for me.
Sorry for this long babble and I may have told you all of this before. The old memory isn't what it used to be. Cheers, Carver
"There's no good reason to be any place else..." Ahhh, rub it in a little! ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy SWF!
I spent my son's early years on Long Island, in Blue Point, where the barrier island beaches are irresistible. This shot makes me homesick for Smith's Point and Fire Island. Clouds are always an added benefit--nice photo!
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have their little piece of heaven. Thanks for sharing yours. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect photo. Love it.
ReplyDeletewhat a nice carolina cloud!!
ReplyDeleteThis would be my heaven too with that gorgeous thunderhead going up! Love it! Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent shot of the dunes and that impressive cloud just above them. It nearly looks like it's touching the ground. like instead of flying up to the cloud you could just step aboard.
ReplyDeleteFabulous capture. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeletelovely shot of freedom and space, never been to east coast in that area but love the oregon coast for its wild beauty. going there for a week in august.
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like I could run up that sand dune and leap onto that cloud.
ReplyDeleteGoodness - I'd have to agree - lots of daydreaming going on there, I bet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful imagination! To climb into those clouds sounds like heaven to me too. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.
Sandy I am jealous. Looks like an awesome place to be right now. I'm getting an wee bit tired of all the rain we have had around Oklahoma. =) Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI agree,a beach breeze is one step closer to God.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. Light and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI would that I could join you for a stroll along the shores of your home away from home. It appears to be much as I invision Heaven to be.
ReplyDeletePure heaven. I'm flying with you.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot, those are some majestic clouds.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I could stare at clouds for hours.
ReplyDeleteThe light on the wooden steps is beautiful and draws me right in--I want to climb up them and go exploring! Thanks for a wonderful photo and visit to the sand dunes: I need all the sunshine I can get and loved this.
