There were plenty of poodles and terriers taking their constitutionals around Sherwood Isle State Park in Westport, Connecticut, on Sunday before the storm. The sun shone through the clouds--weakly--while promised snowstorms loomed on the horizon.

whoa! i can feel summer now. by the why summer in the philippines begins in march and ends in april. you might just wonder.
ReplyDeleteI like particularly the sea picture. Too bad for Sky Watch : )
ReplyDeleteThe sight at the seaside is changing at each minutes. I like the waves rolling on the sand, again and again. I could stay for a long time watching without tiring.
Before you know it, that tree will be full of leaves and a lush green.
ReplyDeleteLove the bubbling sea-fountain. You captured the details.
ReplyDeleteSea waves are always enchanting. I like the picture of the tree too: a nice and well composed silhouette.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sky Watch!
Lovely captures, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

Do you ever think, will they ever have leaves on them again?
ReplyDeleteSea and sky, wonderful combination.
ReplyDeleteA sky, a tree and a wave : basic ingredients for happiness.
ReplyDeleteNIce cropping of the tree. I love the negative space created by the limbs.
ReplyDeleteThat tree speaks volumes, as does the cold gray-green of the surf. A forbidding kind of beauty, that.
ReplyDeleteThey are both great shots! Happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteThe tree is as beautiful naked as it is fully clothed in all the greenery. I love bare trees with grey cloud background.
ReplyDeleteAny relation to Sherwood Forest in the UK? The bare branched tree is so striking and you can never have enough surf.
ReplyDeleteLove your tree and wave, great shots.
ReplyDeleteLovely captures, both.
ReplyDeleteHappye weekend, Sandy!
Love the tree!!! Love it! Wonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic tree against the sky and I'm also glad you showed us the waves lapping on the edge of the sand.
ReplyDeleteGreat tree contras, Sandy. And the water is so familiar; I can hear the small pebbles being pulled in and out.
ReplyDeleteWe had the "pleasure" of enjoying that mentioned snowstorm. I'm ready for warmer weather. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteTrees are always fabulous to make a great composition. The sea is an endless source of inspiration too
ReplyDeleteI like that lonely tree...
ReplyDeleteLove the silhouette, but that water looks really cold...brrr.
ReplyDeleteGood captures for skywatch, the ocean is one of my favorite places to be.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful compositions on both!! There is just something about water.
ReplyDeleteLove the tree and of course that's the one with the sky in it - but the sea, wow! Looks like the water's boiling.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful shots! Can't make up my mind which one I like the best, but probably the ocean, love being near the water. Have a good weekend, and thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThose images are just sooo beautiful!!! Well done :)
ReplyDeleteVery pleasant to the eyes. Make one very relaxing seeing such a nice weather and the waves are so real. Have a nice weekend, Sandy.
ReplyDeleteI love the bold starkness of the tree against that slate gray sky. The waves are curling pretty good, must have been because of the storms approach.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone brought their doggie clean-up equipment. '~) It won't be long and you can show us that soulful looking tree in full bloom! Happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteBrrrrr is all I can say about that photo. It looks cold. Even the water looks cold. At least it isn't frozen. Brrrrr I say.
ReplyDeleteit's that time of year, promises of blossoms followed by snow storms and freezing weather. but we know that SPRING WILL COME...
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, this photo makes me think of PEACE!
ReplyDeleteI played too! Come by if you have time. :)
The picture of the tree definitely speaks of winter. But I really like the picture of the surf. There may be a storm approaching, but it's a great picture.
ReplyDeleteThat tree is a beauty.. great shots.
ReplyDeleteI can hear the waves rolling in and can smell the salty air!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Sandy, as usual! Quite dramatic in their own quiet way!
ReplyDeleteLove the seaside!
That's a lonely tree! It needs some birds for company and color.
ReplyDeletelovely, Sandy! that little wave was captured so nicely!
ReplyDeleteWell caught wave, just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI too will be taking Wilma on the beach shortly! It is my daily fix of abandonment!
ReplyDeleteAmazing how such a tall and straight tree can grow so close to the shore!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures.
I love the tree picture. The contrast of the black tree with all it's limbs going here and there against that snowy grey sky...beautiful. Well worth framing actually. : )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful silhouette of the tree!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, but you can feel the cold.
ReplyDeleteBrrr!!!
Lovely pictures, although the sea looks decidely cool!
ReplyDeleteThe silhouette of the tree is lovely against that dreary sky;-) - it really shows it off.
ReplyDeleteVery cool little wave, frozen in time.
Two beautiful winter photographs! I can almost hear the wave gurgling in; a lovely shot there.
ReplyDeleteShivery pictures!! Brrr.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful shots. I wish I'd been there with you. After several very rainy weeks I long to get back outdoors again.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I have a fascination for trees - love this one up to the sky!
ReplyDeleteBoth are BEAUTIFUL photos! You know how I love the ocean and that bare tree will soon be sprouting ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Somehow, thinking of the poodles and terriers makes me not want to dip my toes in the water. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely justaposition. The colors of winter are strong in both pix. I love the detail you've captured in the receding tide.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you photographed the tree and the water and not the dogs doing their duty!
ReplyDeleteI like the silhouette of the tree. The waves are inviting as well..very pretty with the rocks on shore-
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed both shots! Winter is still trying to show itself here in our low temperatures and sprinkling of snow for yet wtwo more days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here.
