  1. ...and the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

You can't argue these things... and when someone is hesitating, they are important things to remember!

  2. Oh, I like your fortune. Here's to joy in all that you begin!

  3. Wow. The fortune cookies I've gotten lately have been really lame, so it's good to know that's not an industry wide trend.

Of course, everyone knows this already, but sometimes we still require reminders.

  8. I need to pin this on my wall, or make it a t-shirt. It speaks to me (and shames me or encourages me by turns!).

Hmmm, who am I kidding...it will have to be a tattoo!

  12. the beginning is the time of our lives and so we should begin each new day with that thought in mind and live each day with that kind of zest for life!

  13. That is very true... so is Lin's comment. Some things can't begin until others end. And often it is hard to find the beginning. A child gone astray... when did it all begin? A broken marriage. When did the love and commitment start to fade? The hardness in the hearts of your difficult students...when did they lose hope? The end that was necessary for the shell around them to develop. And the shell needs to soften and fall away for hoep to begin anew...

Life is often a series of cycles, I think.

Good post. You are so completely aware of opportunities to be taught.
