Skywatch Friday: Homeward

Just an ordinary day. I love the light of late autumn. The early dark appeals to me, perhaps because I am a bit of a homebody and early dark means going in and enjoying a book or the company of whomever is around.

  1. Hi Sandy, a comforting thought to accept the earlier darkness during winter. The evening clouds
settling above the shadowy trees is a lovely picture.
Sandy, the skywatch link does not show. Thank you and have a nice day. (Here it is Friday 6AM, usually the link comes on before 5AM.)

  6. I love the beautiful swirls and deep blues in this one. Late autumn does seem to have more sky-drama, and I love that. Seeing the trees go bare and remembering how beautiful their silhouettes are against the sky, is wonderful too.

    Happy SWF!

  7. I love to interpret clouds and these look like some fast animal running across the sky just above the trees. I saw it as soon as I opened the page. Beautiful sky Sandy.

  17. Before I read your quote I was thinking the low cloud looked like a space ship. After reading the quote I thought, well I guess I'll hop on board and ride it to a different few of the sun. I'm with you. I like the dark coming earlier, at least for a few months. I like change so each season has its advantages.

  35. Hi Sandy,
This is beautiful. It is getting harder and harder to get really good shots when it gets dark so early but you have done so. I didn't play this week because of my slow connection.

I didn't want to link my name in and then maybe not be able to visit everyone that dropped in on me.

But I did make a post if you get a chance.

  46. Beautiful. Reading through your last few blog posts that I had a chance to catch up on today, I sense a introspective look, a quiet spirit, and perhaps some sadness. I love your thoughtful input on things and always, I love the quotes. Very lovely! All of them.

What an unusual and beautiful sky ... I don't believe I've seen such formations together before. Like you ... dark brings me indoors to read, write ... or cuddle with Molly. I share my Sky Watch with Haikku at my newest blog today and signed it with it to make it easy for you to find.
    Hugs and blessings,

  49. Hi Sandy
Here the sun sets and rises at the same time all year round When you are only 5 degrees from the equator we get equal light and dark. Makes life easy.

  50. My workspace is in a cellar and dont get out into open as often. Usually it will be dark when I am done for the day. Sometimes when I happen to go out before darkness descends, the first thing I do is lift my head and look the blue of the sky. It calms my nerves at the very instant.
