Were Commerce and Labor the only ones there, or are there more? I love it when Art can be present in other aspects of our lives, even somthing as irritating (to me) as banking--thanks for sharing!
banks usually have precious collections of arts. i see most banks do. sad thing is, most banks don't allow just anybody to take photos of them. much so allow cameras inside their premises. back in the philippines, banks do not allow camersa, even cellphones, inside. am not sure here in canada if they do have the same policy. but am sure they, too, restrict taking photos inside. even some malls, too.
these are great collections. and great shots, too.
I enjoyed these three photos and the ‘brass horse’ in your previous post. I’ve got to start carrying my camera with me … just because. I’m anything BUT wordless on both blogs today. Hugs and blessings,

ReplyDeleteI love architectural details like this. They don't bother with them on modern buildings... I guess they'd cost too much.

ReplyDeleteJudging from these images, Sandy, I'd say that the banks in Waterbury are classier than the banks here. Happy WW.
ReplyDeleteNice pieces of carvings... A lot of people come in and go out of banks but I bet a lot of them don't even notice the carvings. Thanks for sharing.

Made of brass or wood? Anyway, they are beautiful and looks great on a bank. :)
ReplyDeleteHistorical buildings are great art sites, now buildings are kinda just put together without much thought to beauty and meaning.
ReplyDeleteThose are very impressive images.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what they represent for the bank, though...
Happy WW! Very unique images...
ReplyDeleteI invite your blog readers to see one result of our nation's economic crisis ... the Zero-Dollar bill. (smile)

ReplyDeleteCool.
ReplyDeleteThose are works of art! But they do not seem very bank-like.
ReplyDeleteMy bank isn't that pretty, it's more... square and brown and boring!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! this only shows that we can find art everywhere - if we really look for it :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know exactly where Waterbury is, but it sounds British. The first image looks very East Indian to me.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting works. Brass cast? Too bad today's modern architecture largely embraces the utilitarian vs. artistic. Great catch!
