The Bethlehem Fair was a lot of fun for Adella and her friend this year. I am not a fan of amusement rides and don't care much for heights, so it's always a strange, surreal experience to watch my daughter climb into these contraptions and disappear into the sky. She is fearless and knows how to have fun. I am grateful her friends will share the joy and I can watch from good old terra firma.

I so agree with you-my feet on the ground is so much nicer than flying around in circles. I use to love the rides but somewhere along the way I became a coward.
ReplyDeleteIncredible photos. Your blog is full of the prettiest photographs and I enjoy the poetry.
ReplyDeleteI love ferris wheels but am past my prime for any of the other rides. Wonderful shots and I know your daughter had a blast on the rides with her friends.
ReplyDeleteThe second picture in particular is a really neat shot.
ReplyDeleteI am with your daughter; I love the rides. My back no longer allows the rollercoasters, though.
Oooo I love ferris wheels too even though I have a fear of heights...lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of these fancy rides either. The last time i was on one i remember using certain words which i don't usually use... It was that bad for me...
ReplyDeleteoooh what an amazing shot, I can almost here the sound it makes!
ReplyDeletei like the last shot. it's awesome. I too have been to the ferris wheel abd i would not want to ride on it again haha. come visit mine too here http://kcelebration.blogspot.com/search/label/weekend%20snapshot
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snapshots! Like that first one.
ReplyDeleteenjoyed your photos, reminded me of earlier days and local carnival rides. I always liked the ferris wheels and merry go round rides.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long long time since I took a ferris wheel ride! The last time I went to an amusement park was... gosh... 15 years ago!!
ReplyDeleteooh! i'd rather ride a roller coaster than a ferris wheel! hee hee. i'm crazy that way. :D
ReplyDeleteThe Stove
Stalking the Bees...Again!
I am not a big fan of amusement park rides either. These shots remind me of my local fair.
ReplyDeleteI am too scared to take those rides. Strangely, I was not scared when I was small. Wonder why?
ReplyDeletei wanna ride too!! ^_~
ReplyDeleteI kinda like being the one in the air but you got the pretty pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Sandy. These wheels are beautiful but... from the ground, with one's feet well placed on terra ferma!!!
ReplyDeleteThe views you publish here, as all your images, are absolutley fantastic.
wow...full color :D
ReplyDeletePlease stop by also at my WS post : in HERE and HERE Thanks

ReplyDeletethat's a place I wan to b w my future wife. I don't mind being stuck up there too. Great night shots!
ReplyDeleteThey say if you made a wish at the highest point of the ferris wheel, it will come true :)
ReplyDeletehi sandy, am sure it's nice to ride that up at night.
ReplyDeletegot a yummy one entry. :)
i, on the contrary, love those amusement park rides. its the kid in me :)
ReplyDeletevery nice pictures :)
I used to love the rides when I was a kid. Now I go dizzy watching them :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, as always.
Your photos almost make me want to have a ride, but...then I remember how high it is. I'm an on-the-ground person, too.
ReplyDeleteI too liked the rides when I was much younger but now I am older and wiser. Mom
ReplyDeleteCool pictures - love the lights in the night shots.
ReplyDeleteFunny! I can so relate. Except, my kids beg and beg and beg for me to take some of these rides with them. This year, I had an excuse because my doctor gave me strict orders not to get on ANY ride till he releases me.
ReplyDeleteI am scared of ferris wheels. I'm always afraid my seat will tip and I will go plummeting to my death. But I love roller coasters and tons of other rides. :) I love how you caught it with the lights blinking too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow..nice shots on the ferris wheel! I love the second shot. =)
ReplyDeleteHere are my WS for this week:
Jenn Was Here

Le Kulitszie Familie
Have a great week ahead!
Sandy, I have an award for you...come see! :)
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely shots! I don't like rides much either but at least you had fun taking pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteI have fear of those so I never rode them...like you, only my kids dare! Great use of lighting to make an amazing photo.
ReplyDeletegreat shots! have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeletewow...that's really a great shot!
ReplyDeleteMINE is here.
i just love the big wheel specially if you are riding with your special someone. =) nice weekend sandy
ReplyDeleteOh how much fun!!
ReplyDeleteMade my tummy giggle just looking at it!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
allways
ReplyDeleteSandy, that first photo makes my stomach go all weak. I can feel it dropping really fast, even though Ferris wheels don't go that fast. I'm one who's sworn off the rides that make you go down abruptly. My daughter and my husband love them, but my son and I are lovers of the Tilt-a-Whirl and the Scrambler. I nonetheless find your photographs thrilling!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm always game for cotton candy. That's my speed.
I don't like carousels that high either. I prefer to keep my feet on the ground!
ReplyDeleteWell if you were on the ride you wouldnt have got such cool photos.
ReplyDeleteTake a chance sometime.
ReplyDeleteI love those shots!!
ReplyDeleteMakes me regret not going to the local fair that we have this year :(
What wonderful photos! Especially your second one.
ReplyDeleteMust tell you - I love the words you write with each of your posts, whether they be poems, descriptions, stories, they are all so well written.
Very nice photos of the lights!
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping by Weekend Snapshot Post. If not for that, I would've never discover the wonderful photos in yor site =) I love how artistic you presented this carousel shot!
