i think he's barking at them to stop tempting him :)... but this is a great photo... and it makes you admire those stone sculptors or masons who work with their "primitive" tools (that is, primitive compared to what we have now), their skill and patience...
Great photo. I think he's saying "Oh, no! I'm surrounded. How do I get out of here!" He looks kind of scared to me, but maybe I'm projecting my own psyche onto him... Cool shot.
