Ahhhh - thistles! They can be so beautiful when you picture them like that! Yet we are working so hard to eliminate them from the farm! Have a great day!
That's a lovely shot Sandy. The colors and texture and everything are so well done. I also loved your daughter's shot. Looks like she shares your talent. SkyWatch from my Deck
I was taking macro photos of thistle earlier this week and I actually like yours better! Plus, I am so jealous that you're on vacation in North Carolina. I love love love the beaches there. My favorite is Ocracoke.

Wow Sandy, those are pretty! I think they are bad for farmers though, we called them 'Purple Thistles." They sure show off the sky! I'm having clouds viewed from above in the sky today. Happy Skywatching, ..
Really nice job Sandy. But a thistle on the pier? Seriously? On our piers we have shops and seagulls and fish and fishermen. But sadly, not a lot of wild plants.
Beautiful thistle. That bright blue sky with just a wisp of cloud makes a great backdrop.
I was on my knees alongside our country road today taking a similar type photo, and a man stopped to see if I needed help. I did. I needed him to step aside and take his shadow with him, but of course that isn't how I answered! The world is too short on kindness to be flippant about receiving it.
"Louis" has been buried deeper than his cowbell in work - and will be for the next month or so. He hasn't paused to say 'hello' when he has stopped by.
Hi, It's fun how these purple flowers seem always the same. No matter witch part of the world. It seem so unbelievable that it can spread allover. Happy Sky watch!
