Isn't that a fun, joyful romp in the hay! Joy Brown's scupture, Sandy? The radio personality and therapist? I think I read something about this in the brochure Roe Greico sent me... :D
Hi! First , Thanks for dropping by at my WS entry. I am sort of inactive too nowadays. Just like you, we have finally moved in to our new place. Just yesterday and it is my first morning here.
When you watch shows on animals, there's always shots of puppies, lion cubs or bear cubs wrestling about. Little kids do it, too, and sometimes they like to wrestle with Moms or Dads. There is something wonderful in the joy associated with the battle, as indicated on the face of the one figure. It's not the winning or the losing, for what kid ever could be a parent. It's the interaction,, the togetherness that's important. I think Joy captured it perfectly.
You are traveling a couple of comments ahead of me this evening!! Wanted to come by and say HI!
I did a post a couple of weeks ago that showed a sculpture on the University Of Montevallo's Campus (Alabama) done by Dr. Ted Metz. You could possible google some of those words and find it. It is a huge sculture of two hands holding a set of keys. It is quite lovely!
There are so many different ways to look at this. But the first thing that came to mind was my children playing in the floor. They wrestle all the time. (in a good playful way)
The first thing I wondered was "How big is it?" Someone else mentioned Asian influence, but it reminds me a little bit of Cycladic sculpture from Greece.
this is a very interesting sculpture... you can give a lot of interpretation to it --- a wrestling match, someone breaking the fall of the other, a couple making love, etc... thanks for sharing...
Today I've created almost Wordless posts illustrating things I learned in the 3rd session of my beginning Photoshop Elements class ... at SacredRuminations and Small Reflections ... it's all fun for me! Maybe I'll do OSI on Friday? Hugs and blessings,
