Here in Connecticut, the first signs of spring include boxwoods opening up, dry birch leaves that will soon give way to new ones, rhododendron leaves that are no longer pinched with frostbite, and Canada geese making the long march home after a very long flight North. Spring is slow and subtle, brown and green.

ReplyDeletei wonder what will that flower looks like when it blooms. :)
ReplyDeletei love spring with all its beauty and smell in the air.
Spring is peaking out all over!
ReplyDeleteWe have a single pair of Canadian Geese who return each year to our Swamp. They arrived about 3 weeks ago to raise their little family of goslings. Last year did not bode well for the goslings as the extreme drought dried up the Swamp entirely. We had to put out kiddie pools for the wildlife. After 3 weeks there was only one gosling and 2 days later only the geese remained, and they left a few days after that. I was quite surprised to see them return again this year, but I am very glad to see them!
I can only imagine where the geese are coming from if this is their stop on their way back north!
I know..I am so looking forward for Cherry Blossoms and Hanami too!~ :D
