Two weeks ago, I brought in my houseplants and dug up my hibiscus and geranium plants that had enjoyed a nice summer outside. We get strong morning sunlight, and I have my picnic benches strategically placed so that these plants can make the most of the light from where they sit. The geraniums have been in a state of shock, but the hosta, which I bought in the spring from BJs Wholesalers, said all was well with this blossom. I hope these plants survive the winter, which the Farmer's Almanac says will be a doozy.

ReplyDeleteMy hibiscus plant died...I thought. It did but there are now beautiful little baby leaves coming from the earth. Somehow, it rebirthed itself. I just love it.

Hibiscus always makes me think of my Dad. He had a beautiful tree-like plant which blossomed every day. It was too large to haul across country to my place after both of my parents were gone so I took a cutting which took, but never bloomed. It eventually died of shock when I tried bringing it outside for the summer. My sister does have part of the original plant which she acquired years earlier. She has my Dad's green thumb and hers is thriving. I hope all of your plants do well.

A beautiful blossom on that hibiscis! I hope it survives. Come visit Florida if it does not*; we will go and look around the neighborhood for some. (It's the only Spring flower we have down there ;>)!
