Wednesday: Yes, Indeed, I'm Walking....

From August 13, 2012
I took this one with my less-than-wonderful-but-always-adequate Canon PowerShot on the beach in North Carolina last summer. I enjoyed watching this bird work so hard to get someplace other than where he landed.  I know the feeling.  Since then, I've been missing the heat and blue of that amazing place.

  2. I have a joke for you:

A man dies and goes to heaven.

When he is exploring he finds a huge room full of clocks – millions and millions of clocks.

They all seem to be telling different times, and the hands on the clocks all seem to move at different times and some don’t move at all.

He hears the rustle of feathers behind him and turns to see an angel standing there: “what are all these clocks” the man asks

“They are lie clocks” replies the angel “each time you lie the hands move, and once you have used up your time, you die!”

“wow” say the man, “so everybody has a different clock?”

    “yes” says the angel

“can I have a look at Mitt Romney’s clock?” asks the man

“no” says the angel “the boss has got it mounted in his office as a ceiling fan!”

  8. Sandy: By the look of the feathers it's a good thing it is walking.

  17. That is a bird on a mission! I hope he was okay, he does look a bit worse for the wear! I hear flying these days can have that effect (I'd rather walk too!) :-)

Love Stewart's Joke - heard it back in the Dubya days, and it's just as fitting now!

  18. The storm would have been terrible in the other place where you were too right? Or maybe I'm mixed up (highly possible). I'm happy to see you have electricity and are writing.

And even without a good reason like terrible weather, I often feel just like that crow that I should be someplace else (but I'm not sure where).
