Today's Flowers: Welcome, Autumn

From September 2, 2012
Today is the first day of autumn, and it has started quietly and beautifully. Not even the squirrels were up when I took the dog out for his constitutional at 7:30. It's nice when simple moments feel momentous. Here's a great story about the equinox and why it isn't equal at all.

  7. Informative link. Momentous moments are seldom simple but as human we want to grab oversimplifications to make sense of things that are too complex to go on about. Good thing there are scientists as well as poets in the world. :-)

  9. I love your milkweed pods as much as your cars.
But, mostly, I love it when you visit my blog and comment.
I just take a deep breath, and relax, and breath in your faith and your spirit.

  10. Here in the tropics, because we dont have 4 seasons, we are not mindful of the equinoxes. We are more aware of the constant possible cause of calamities like drought, typhoons and ITCZs! But i love the transition i see in countries of other bloggers like your lovely photo.

  15. And ... here in the Brasil spring begins.
It is when the flowers get more force, because flowers have practically the whole year, because our winter is not too cold.

I wish when I looked up at the stars I could see the patterns like that
I always have trouble.I don't even know what kind of stars we should look for up here in BC
    I've seen a few shooting stars.North star.
At my country place I am sure there is a huge satellite above my house
At night when I lie down I see this huge circle of lights. At first I thought it was a UFO lol
