I took these photos of the flags on the USS North Carolina when I made a solo pilgrimage to this paragon on wartime ingenuity on July 27.

    With maritime flags, of course.

    Trivia fact: The universally known "Peace Symbol" (you're already picturing the circle and lines inside, right?)
    Well that symbol is based on the flag signal "N" & "D"
    for Nuclear Disarmament.

  12. Great furling flag header. I love touring navy warships. I have to do it myself though, I love the engine rooms best and my wife can't stand the faint oil smell in closed quarters.
