One Single Impression: Epidemic

Everywhere, birds sing
As crocuses warm and break the earth.
Tomorrow: daffodils
And the laughter of children
Rising like bears
Craving the sweetness of summer flowers
In honey, in sunshine, in memory.
Springtime:
Everyone, everything, everywhere: hungry.

One Single Impression

  1. Oh lordy yes, I am overwhelmed with the epidemic. Come on sunshine and warmer weather. Your poem hit it on the head, an Epidemic.

I like your header. I didn't know why you changed it but it is a reminder that there will soon be some beach time.

  2. A few days ago, the birds who have nested in our carport arrived. He was outside my studio with his loud song, as if to say, "Look, I'm back!" He is looking for a mate, and I hope he finds her so they can start the nest building. His mate from the last two years did not return this year...but perhaps like human's their meeting is not for a lifetime. Yes, spring is here! A time of renewal.

  23. Ah- the Epidemic of Spring Fever- I was this close (2 fingers almost touching) to writing about that as well but went in a different direction. We ALL need to jump in on YOUR epidemic, don't we? Love the turtles... :)

  26. Very pretty, Sandy. The world is hungry and thin right now. Goes for the people, animal life, plants, and fishes.

I have the Decorah Eagles nest webcam video on my Jim's Little Blog. Two eggs have hatched, the third might be tomorrow.
You poem fits this eagle family very nicely (I think).
