Skywatch Friday: The Light and the Blue

Hartford is one of my favorite places. The light in the canyons of glass towers casts a magical glow over everything.  Despite all the new buildings, though, the old ones continue their story of the city's youthful, powerful exuberance of the 19th century. When I walk there, I feel I get a sense of what a skyscraper was like as a new idea. It's fun.

  1. And perhaps you give an insight to what the skyscrapers are thinking? Do they watch you as you look at them?

  2. Gorgeous blue skies, marvelous buildings, terrific captures as always, Sandy! I love the idea of buildings watching us as we look at them. I too wonder how we look to them?? Surely not as magnificent as they are in your photos! Have a beautiful day!

  4. Nice, it reminds me a little bit of Tulsa, older high rises amongst new highly reflective buildings makes for an interesting mix.

  11. This looks like the old sun life building in Montreal. And you are right the old buildings are much better than the new ones.

How beautiful a sight. Even though a huge building, it looks friendly.

  22. That blue does indeed make for a beautiful background. Wish we had some blue in our skies. Even the past two days when it DIDN'T rain, we had cloud cover.
