We had a nice walk around the Brian Tierney Preserve in Roxbury, Connecticut, over the weekend. The trail is clearly marked (except where it isn't), and it winds around some pretty steep ledges around this beautiful land that was sculpted into the earth by glaciers thousands upon thousands of years ago. It's a strange and wonderful thing to walk along the edges and observe the steep drops; the time of creation seems not so long ago, yet.... The morning light was really spectacular, and the water coming down the Cascades, glorious.

ReplyDeleteYou have certainly captured the perfection of the morning as well as the glacial influences in the landscape. The cascades are truly wonderful with their ledging scraped by glacier flow.

ReplyDeletewe must have been thinking and doing the same thing. I was at HIlton Falls, a site of glacier carved wonders and an old mill... and well.
It's a comfort to know there are people seeing what I see sometimes.

I was taken with the fern still such brilliant green with all of the decay.
