Wordless Wednesday: Blew Out Your Flip-Flop?

flip flop topsail

The singular flip-flop, like the forgotten umbrella on a rainy day or the abandoned winter coat in January, always leaves me wondering. How and why? I imagine some poor soul hopping all the way to the car? It's an image that makes me smile.

  3. The picture hints at all kinds of possibilities as to why the abandoned flip flop.

Thanks. And thanks for going back to my blog and letting me know you were there.

  4. I've seen similar things at the beach and had thoughts of "what did they do next?"

Of course that sandal looks pretty well useless. I've never seen that particular failure before.

In engineering terms we would say "Its structural integrity was compromised."

  8. Well, I think it was left behind on purpose -- discarded -- and the waves finally uncovered it from where the mischievous children hid it.

  21. And as the mom of four, my first thought is, "Some kid left his flip flop again."

  22. I hope they had a spare ;)

Seriously, though, I like the undulating waves of both the sand and the discarded flip-flop. They fit together.

  23. I see that someone lost this out of their beach bag while walking up to the car. Too tired to go back and look for it. Now to get rid of the ear worm. "Wastin away in Marguritavill"....
