Here are a few wildflowers that were sunning themselves in Waterbury on Friday afternoon, which was a sunny, gorgeous almost-really-autumn day.

  6. beautiful. The blue wild chicory seem to be having a second (albeit much lighter) blooming this year. I'm just re-noticing them around here too.

  12. I really like close-ups of wildflowers because the flowers are usually small. The macro shows them off in a beautiful way and then we can really appreciate their beauty.

    I always appreciated wildflowers a bit more than the ones that are planted by ourselves. I love their randomness and always try and imagine who planted them and how they got there. Thanks for sharing.

  25. I just love the time of year when you see the blue haze of chickory growing along the sides of a road traveled. They wild white asters are beautiful too. They pop up in my flower beds.
