Walking around Waterbury before the Christmas Eve service at St. John's, I came across these vines on a building housing a law firm on Church Street. The vines seemed so graceful, so sensuous, to me. I am glad it was let be through the warm weather. Nature will have her place. I love it.

ReplyDeleteBut ivy... I'm ambivalent about that stuff. It's one of those things you don't want to plant unless you really really mean it! Because it absolutely will take over everything in its path. It's relentless, indefatigable, and impossible to get rid of.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful at any time of year. This reminds me of something that grows here called Creeping Fig ... my neighbor had it on her house until it started growing INSIDE too. Then she had it removed and the house painted.

ReplyDeleteI have vines growing up the back of my house and I'm always torn between removing them because of the damage they do, and leaving them because they're so beautiful. I've removed them a couple of times now.. but they persist. And I let them for a while. I love that first shot in particular.
