Walking in the woods on Sunday, I noticed the snow seemed to glow with the blue light of the bright, clear sky. These fallen trees intrigued me. The bottom one was dead, but the top tree and its twisted, pulled-up roots was quite alive. Together they looked like two good and loyal friends. There is an abstract, sensuous beauty about the trees and the shapes they take together that captivates me.

I can sure see what you say. When I come upon a tree with those large exposed gnarled roots I am always amazed at the energy that they seem to emanate. I am always drawn to them. I like to touch them, feel their strength.

it's very cold here in the Philippines right now, no rain, just cold winds, never been this cold as I could remember... I really miss the sun right now...:)
Very serene and I just love the angle here! A bluebird sky is what they call that here.

What a strong and vivid photo! I also thought of two people, but of one who died while the other is holding on for dear life, wishing and hoping the other was still with him or her. Trees are like people to me, that way. NICE!

ReplyDeleteRegarding your comment on my last post. You are so right issues regarding weight are so much more complicated the a few simple statements. I amazed that some people can eat terribly and stay thin. I worked with a woman who lived on cigerattes, coffee and pie.
